ABOUT US
"What could you do today that would make the world a better place for future generations?"
That question drove me to create eTeachEnglish. That question will drive eTeachEnglish to get even better every day!

OUR STORY
eTeachEnglish was created because students were graduating from universities without jobs or working in jobs that did not use their skills, like the graduate working as a clerk in a service business because “He needed to make ends meet.” I taught that student in university and I knew he had a ton of potential. It’s not right. It’s not fair. That was my call to be part of the solution!
TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) is about “teaching / training / coaching.”
It’s about helping non-English people learn to speak English better, so they can improve their lives, too.
- They need to learn English to sell products and services into English-speaking countries.
- They need to learn English to be accepted into English colleges and universities.
- They need to learn English for international meetings where English is the most used language.
- They need to learn English to keep up with (and get ahead of) other students in their schools.
The list is far more exhaustive, but it helps you understand why an estimated 1.5 Billion people around the world want to learn to speak English and are willing to pay for it.
It helps you understand why an estimated 100,000 additional people are required each year to address this English “teacher/ coach/ trainer demand.
When the world returns to normal, classroom teaching opportunities will start to re-open for those people who long to travel and gather new experiences. Teaching online is still king, though, and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. eTeachEnglish TEFL certificate satisfies the certification requirements for both online and classroom jobs.
-
- You could fill out surveys online and earn less than $4 per hour despite hollow promises of more.
- You could work evenings and weekends at a store for minimum wage, after you pay for commuting.
- You could spend several months and thousands of dollars to take a specialty course, but who has the time or money?
The side hustle market is competitive with 45% of millennials having a second income source. I started teaching at an Atlantic Canadian university in 2003. Our young people need a break.I’m not reinventing the wheel. We found the best companies in this industry and negotiated so we could keep the price below $1,000 for you. - There are inferior TEFL courses (with accreditation) priced at $300-1,000 (one selling at $2,195).
- There are resume and application consultants who’ll do what our mentors do for $1,000-2,000.
- The entrepreneurship course currently draws $495 and it’s ready for an increase.
- You’d pay more than $1,000 for the practicum and $500 for instruction on how to teach online.
- We cannot assess our other bonuses as there are no comparisons out there.
My point is that you’d pay $3,000-5,000 for this, normally. For students and recent graduates (2015 and beyond), we’re issuing our March Break Special for $995 only until May 31, 2022, then it’s over. It may end sooner, though, because we can only accommodate 100 students in a cohort.
To be recognized internationally, a TEFL course must have at least 120 hours of instruction time and be accredited by a recognized accrediting body. eTeachEnglish has 150 hours of instruction and accreditation from OTTSA.
Good TEFL courses have a lot of illustrations and examples, and ours has an abundance of both. We selected a TEFL course that was written by a university professor with a background in course development and more than 20 years teaching TEFL. The course has a flow I can only describe by comparing it to that book you read that you just couldn’t put down. That’s the value of a skilled course developer.
The TEFL course has live support so you’ll get your questions answered quickly by people who are TEFL certified and who listen to your question. This explains why our completion rate is above 95% while many courses struggle to pass one-quarter of their sign-ups.
Our *Gold Standard* TEFL course is just the first stepping stone in a system that IS our March Break Special. Here’s what else you’ll get included:
- Practice – not role-playing, but authentic online practice teaching using real non-English speaking students in real classes being taught by you in real time, and complete with a professional critique so you can continue to improve. Employers love this!
- The side hustle market is competitive with 45% of millennials having a second income source. Your application has to be stellar so we’ll align you with a mentor to help you compile a >complete, professional application package. They’ll work with you to make sure you get it right.
- The application package is important but so is your interview, so your mentor will work with you to ensure you’re ready for your interview and to ensure that your interview is successful.
- If you have that drive to turbocharge your side hustle by venturing out on your own, I’ve included an entrepreneurship course as a bonus. I’ve coached more than 750 new business start-up entrepreneurs and taught hundreds of university students in Entrepreneurship. This online course is normally $495, but included ONLY in our Spring Break Special Offer at NO EXTRA CHARGE!
We’re not done…
We’ll give you access to our online resource center. This asset is constantly growing and building with lessons, curriculum, research and other pieces vital to your successful future.
We’ll give you membership to our online community of teachers – our own private social media group, where you can chat with others about anything and everything TEFL. Our process works! It’s a tight side hustle market right now, but our placement remains very high.

I love my horses and this is one of them going for a walk with me. Country living on a horse farm is a dream come true.
For almost 20 years, I have taught at university. It’s part of making the world better for the next generation.
I’ve started 3-4 businesses in my lifetime, with this one being the most ambitious.
I earned my MBA from University of Colorado (Colorado Springs) with a focus on Strategic Management.
I ran programs directed at helping new business start-up entrepreneurs, coaching more than 750 people to actually open their businesses.
The true measure of success is not what you have done for yourself, but what you have done for others. That’s what I love about Atlantic Canada. That’s what I love about eTeachEnglish.
